CONNACHT CUP

The weather impacted fixtures in the first round of the Connacht Women’s Cup at the weekend.

With Sunday’s games all postponed, just one Mayo team saw action, with Straide & Foxford travelling to Sligo on Saturday where they lost out 4-0 to Glenview Stars.

S&F’s battling 11 trailed 2-0 at half-time to two Aising Herbert goals, and two further scores on 65 and 76 minutes saw the home side progress comfortably.

All other fixtures were postponed until the weekend of January 17/18: Shiven Rovers v Swinford; Westport United v Colga FC; Castlerea Celtic v Ballina Town; Boyle Celtic v Ballyglass; Castlebar Town v Kiltullagh Pioneers.
