Castlebar Town have won the women’s Premier Division, after their dominating display against Manulla. Two goals from Cliodhna Dowling, one of three Dowling sisters on the pitch, secured the win for the town.
This means as well as winning the title, Castlebar secured a league ‘double’ over last year’s champions.
Ballina Town headed into their match against Glenhest last night, already confirmed as Division 2 winners. They are looking to make it a double-winning season, with a Division Two cup final against Achill Rovers taking place at the end of the month.
