Tributes have been paid to Killala’s Martin Farrell, who has passed away.
Martin was a stalworth of Killala GAA and part of teams which created history for the club, brining the County Junior Championship to Killala in 2000 as well as the Connacht Junior title in 2006.
In a statement, Killala GAA say that Martin was part of the fabric of the club, and that “his passion for the game and his club was unmistakable”.
Last year, Farrell oversaw the Junior side’s victory in the County B championship.
Killala GAA say “Martin’s influence will live on in every young player he inspired, every teammate who shared a field with him and in every child who dreams of one day wearing the Killala jersey with the same pride he always did”.
