Swinford FC bowed out of the Connacht Under 19 Girls Cup at the semi-final stage on Sunday.
In the end, visitors Athenry FC progressed as 5-0 winners but they had to work hard to overcome their Mayo hosts.
The game was level up until the hour mark with the Swinford defence and ‘keeper standing firm. But when the breakthrough came for Athenry on 61 minutes they pushed on and continued pressure yielded scores to secure their place in the final against Boyle Celtic.
