The Mayo senior hurlers have maintained their 100% record in the Nicky Rackard Cup with a hard fought win over Louth this afternoon.
Ray Larkin’s men were three behind at the break, with the wee county hitting 1-14.
Mayo came out strong in the second half with a goal from Sioman Thomas before Louth retook the lead with Leon Fox hitting the net.
Louth took a three point advantage, and looked to be in the driving seat, but could only manage one more point in the final 15 minutes while Mayo hit 0-11 to claim victory.
Eoghan Delaney, Cormac Phillips and Liam Lavin contributed 0-4 each with 1-1 from Kieran McDermott, while Shane Boland hit 0-5 – a good spread of Mayo scorers.
Elsewhere, Sligo kept their hopes of a Rackard final place on track as Andrew Kilcullen hit 4-7 in a 17 point win over Fermanagh.
