Athlone Town have cleared the first hurdle in their bid for Women’s Champions League Qualification, yesterday evening.
Colin Fortune’s side ran out as 4-0 winners at home against visitors Cardiff City, in a first-round semi-final match, in front of a capacity crowd.
Athlone, the Women’s premier division champions, will now face Croatian side ZNK Agram this Saturday.
Sligo native Roisin Molloy featured in last night’s win, playing until a substitution in the 85th minute. Roisin previously played for Kiltimagh Knock Utd, and the Sligo Rovers U17 squad.
