Rovers get the points in Connacht derby

Sligo Rovers v Shamrock Rovers - SSE Airtricity Men's Premier Division

Sligo Rovers came away with all three points from last night’s Connacht derby, after a 2-1 win over Galway United.

Goals from Jad Hakiki and sub Francley Lomboto helped John Russell’s side to their second win in three.

Elsewhere, Bohemians closed to within nine points of SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division leaders Shamrock Rovers last night.

Bohs were 2-0 winners at Dalymount Park thanks to first-half goals from Dayle Rooney and James Clarke.

Elsewhere, Drogheda United earned a point from their trip to Cork City after it finished 1-0 at Turner’s Cross.

St Pat’s poor form continued as they lost 1-0 to Derry City, while Sligo Rovers picked up a 2-1 win over Galway United.

At the RSC, it finished Waterford 2-2 Shelbourne.
