Roscommon are Connacht Minor Football champions.
Dara Curran’s late goal proved crucial, helping the Rossies to come back from two points down to win by two in the finish.
The final was lit up by dazzling performances from the two number 13s – Tony Carey hit 1-4 for Mayo while John Price finished with 1-3 for Roscommon. Dean Casey scored the insurance point for Roscommon to finish with 0-7 to his name.
It’s Roscommon’s first Connacht title since the St. Stephen’s Day final against Sligo back in 2020, and last night they broke Mayo’s push for four in a row.
Roscommon are managed by Shane Moran, a native of Charlestown, who is in his first year in charge having worked with the team as a coach previously.
