Castlebar Celtic made their debut in the Mayo Women’s Masters League last Thursday night, and they got off to a winning start with a 3-0 win over Fahy Rovers B.

Another group who came together originally through the FAI KickFit programme, Celtic captain Linda Coyne led the way with the club’s first goal on eight minutes. And goals from Jacinta Derrig and Gillian Conway McGreal in the second half made the points secure.

Kilmore enjoyed an 8-0 win over Fahy Rovers A, with Annie Lynskey accounting for half of their scores.

Claremorris also have two wins on the board with a 5-1 victory over Manulla, Emma Mullin with a hat-trick there.

Games return to their usual Tuesday slot this week.
