Mayo v Kildare - Electric Ireland GAA Football All-Ireland Minor Championship Quarter-Final

The Mayo U20s have confirmed their place in the Connacht final, following last night’s hammering of Sligo.

4-14 of Mayo’s tally was scored by the very impressive full forward line – Tom Lydon chipped in with 0-5 while Niall Hurley and Darragh Beirne scored 2-3 and 2-6 respectively.

Peadar Gardiner’s side stormed into a 13 point half time lead, thanks to goals from Hurley, Beirne and Cathal Keaveney.

Sligo, to their credit, came out swinging in the second half and brought the margin closer with 1-6 without reply, but could only make a dent in the Mayo advantage.

After Roscommon’s victory over Leitrim, it will be Sligo and Roscommon who meet in the semi final on Wednesday next.

Mayo await the winners in the final on April 30.

Full time scores:

Mayo 5-22 Sligo 2-16

Roscommon 6-17 Leitrim 1-8
