The Mayo Schoolboys/Girls had three of its female squads in Inter League action yesterday Saturday. The under 12s faced Roscommon and District in Leecarrow in a top of the table decider. The young Mayo side were very impressive 3-2 winners qualifying for the Cup knock-out stages. The goals came from Sadhbh Mc Donagh and a brace from Ali Clarke.
The under 13s also topped their group and also go forward into the Cup knock out stages. Their match with Galway 2 finished 1-1 with Mayo winning the “stand by” penalties. Lexi Murphy got the Mayo goal in this match which was played at Umbro Park, Castlebar.
At the same venue, the under 16s beat Waterford 2-0 in a Cup Semi-Final with both goals being scored by Riona Moynihan. They will now face the winners of South Belfast or Cork in the final in a month’s time. Mayo of course are the defending Cup Champions at this age level.
