A Mayo teenager has been called up to the Irish National side for the upcoming U18 Six Nations Festival.
Aoife Heaney, who plays for Claremorris Colts RFC, is currently training with the Irish squad ahead of their opening games tomorrow against England and Italy.
She is the only Mayo player to be called up to the national side.
In a statement, the club said Aoife’s call-up is ‘a huge achievement and well-deserved recognition for her hard work, talent, and dedication’.
Ireland’s next two games will be against Scotland and France on Tuesday, April 15, before they conclude their tournament against Wales on Saturday, April 19.
