Munster centre Tom Farrell will receive his first Ireland cap against Japan this weekend.
Head coach Andy Farrell has also named several other changes in the backs, as Craig Casey, Robbie Henshaw, Jacob Stockdale, Tommy O’Brien and Jamie Osborne all start.
Tadhg Beirne has also been included in the squad, after the red card he received in last weekend’s meeting with New Zealand was rescinded.
He’ll be joined in the second row by James Ryan.
Caelan Doris, who returned from injury off the bench last week, is one of four changes to the pack.
