Mayo ladies team named for Connacht opener v Leitrim

Liam McHale has named his Mayo team to face Leitrim in the first round of the Connacht LGFA Senior Football Championship.

Five changes have been made to the team that last played in the final round of the Lidl National Football League against Waterford four weeks ago.

Ciara Whyte, Aoife Geraghty, Chelsea Doherty, Saoirse Delaney and Annie Gough are all replaced by Ella Brennan, Sherin Al Massry, Riona Jordan, Ava McDonnell and Alannagh Devereux.

Mayo will be hoping for just their second win of the season after relegation to Division 2 of the league, while Leitrim enter the senior grade as reigning All Ireland Intermediate champions.

Sunday’s game takes place at Swinford Amenity Park, with throw in at 1:00pm.
