A return is now in sight for Mayo Football League soccer, following a meeting last night of the League’s Management Committee.
Round One of all competitions had to be put on hold, following a mass resignation of the previous LMC last month. The running of the league was taken over after this by the Connacht FA, when it became obvious that differences between some in the MFL and Mayo FC could not be settled.
Last week, an Emergency General Meeting was chaired by the Connacht FA, which saw a new Management Committee elected for the league.
Now, a date has been set for the return of league soccer in the county. The 28th February – 1st March will see the Super League, Premier League, League One, League Two and Junior League commence.
The U17 competitions will commence on Sunday the 15th of March.
