The National Senior Indoor Athletics Championships took place this weekend in the National Indoor Arena in Abbotstown. Swinford ACs Michaela Walsh was once again in flying form as she dominated the women’s shot put taking home the gold medal a full meter and an half ahead of the silver medalist. Michaela’s winning throw was a national lead (the furthest any Irish athlete has thrown in 2025).This is Michaela’s eight national indoor title in a row a fantastic achievement. Michaela has had a fantastic start to her 2025 season as she also represented Ireland three weeks ago at the Loughborough International Indoor Open where she took first place in the women’s shot put.
