Mayo v Louth - Dalata Hotel Group GAA Football All-Ireland U20 Championship Semi-Final

The Mayo u20s have missed out on a place in the All Ireland final, suffering defeat to Louth in last night’s semi final.

This sets up an All Ireland final meeting between Tyrone and Louth, as the wee county continue an historic campaign coupled with their senior team winning the Leinster Championship just last weekend.

Shane Lennon set the tone inside the opening two minutes with a well taken goal putting Louth into the driving seat.

With Tom Lydon in form in front of the posts, Mayo got themselves level after 21 minutes, before Louth hit the net through Pearse Grimes-Murphy.

Mayo fought back the second half deficit with Colm Lynch twice hitting two-pointers to put Peadar Gardiner’s side ahead for the first time on 51 minutes.

The sides exchanged two-pointers through Darragh Beirne and Tiernan Markey, before Beirne got Mayo back level in the dying minutes.

Corner forward Adam Gillespie got the decisive score in the closing moments to land victory for Louth, and heartbreak for Mayo.
