Darragh Beirne St. Colmans

All-Ireland PPS Senior A Football Final

St. Patrick’s College, Maghera, Derry 2-08

St. Colman’s College, Claremorris, Mayo 0-04

It was heartbreak for St. Colman’s in the All-Ireland final this afternoon at Croke Park.

Colman’s played against a very strong breeze in the first half and went in trailing 0-05 to 0-01.

However, they didn’t get enough good ball in early in the second half to cause any real problems to the Derry boys.

Darragh Beirne kicked all four of Colman’s points and along with Rio Mortimer and Mark Noonan were their best players on the day.

Padraig Haran received the man of the match for St. Pat’s and he got the crucial goal nine minutes in to the second half.

Disappointing for St. Colman’s but they can look back on their year with great pride winning a Connacht A Title and reaching an All-Ireland final.
