Galway have named their side to face Mayo in Sunday’s Connacht Senior Football Final and there is no Damien Comer or Shane Walsh in the match day panel.
Comer made a brief cameo in Galway’s semi-final demolition of Roscommon in Salthill but isn’t fit to be included in the matchday squad for their four-in-a-row tilt in Castlebar.
Shane Walsh, meanwhile, who hasn’t featured for Galway since the Round 6 league defeat to Dublin in Croke Park, will not see any action on Sunday.
Otherwise, Padraic Joyce has named an unchanged starting 15 from the side that overcame Roscommon by nine points under a fortnight ago.
In better news for Galway, Peter Cooke returns to the matchday panel after missing the entirety of 2024 with work commitments.
Galway XV (to play Mayo): Connor Gleeson; Johnny McGrath, Seán Fitzgerald, Jack Glynn; Dylan McHugh, Sean Mulkerrin, Liam Silke; Paul Conroy, Seán Kelly; Céin Darcy, John Maher, Cillian McDaid; Matthew Tierney, Rob Finnerty, Matthew Thompson.
