Former All-Ireland winning football manager with Kerry Eamon Fitzmaurice looks set to sensationally take over as the manager of the Galway senior football team, the Irish Examiner last night reported.
It comes following Padraig Joyce’s decision to step down following seven seasons in charge of the tribesmen earlier this month.
Fitzmaurice previously managed his native Kerry for six seasons from 2013 to 2018.
In that time the Finuge club man won an all-Ireland senior football title in 2014, defeating Mayo in a semi-final replay in Limerick, he also won the Munster senior football championship in each of those six seasons, along with a national league in 2017.
