Defeat for Sligo hurlers in opening round of the Christy Ring

The Sligo hurlers have suffered defeat at the hands of Kildare in the opening round of the Christy Ring Cup.

In Markievicz Park, Stephen Shiel’s side lost by eleven points.

Gerard O’Kelly Lynch was Sligo’s standout scorer, hitting 2-6 of their total.
