Defending champions Shamrock Rovers dropped points for the third successive game in the SSE Airtricity Premier Division last night.

The Hoops drew 2-2 with St. Pat’s in Tallaght, coming off the back of a shock 3-1 defeat at home to Waterford on Monday.

Elsewhere, league leaders Shelbourne needed a Seán Boyd equaliser to rescue a point at home to Drogheda.

Waterford are up to 4th following their 4-1 thrashing of Dundalk at the RSC.

Michael Duffy got the winner for Derry City in their 1-0 win against Bohemians.

The Connacht derby between Galway United and Sligo Rovers finished 0-0.
