Connacht have boosted their chances of reaching the play-offs in the United Rugby Championship with a 31-14 victory over the Scarlets last night.
It was a great night for Sean Jansen who scored two tries for the Westerners, meaning Connacht went in 12-nil up at the break.
In the second half, Connacht picked up from where they left off in the opening 40, with Jack Aungier landing down between the posts. Sean Naughton converted that one.
Joe Roberts and Ioan Jones scored for the visitors, with Carwyn Leggatt-Jones converting for Roberts’s try, but he was wide of the mark at the second time of asking.
Connacht secured their bonus-point win when Fiachna Barrett got the ball past the line, with Eoin de Buitlear backing it up afterwards. (Naughton Conversion).
It’s a third URC win in-a-row for Connacht, and their fifth overall in the Championship this season.
Meanwhile, Ulster picked up a bonus-point 40-19 win at Edinburgh.
