Claremorris man helps DCU advance to Sigerson final

DCU Dóchas Éireann v TUS Midlands - Electric Ireland HE GAA Sigerson Cup Quarter-Final

Claremorris footballer Darragh Joyce helped DCU Dóchas Éireann to make the Sigerson Cup final last night, dethroning Ulster University in the process.

A number of footballers from across the region were involved, with Sligo’s Luke Marren (Bunninadden) scoring 0-4 for DCU, while fellow Sligo footballers Lee Deignan (Shamrock Gaels) and Eoghan Smith (Drumcliffe Rosses Point) were also in action.

The Roscommon trio of Eoin Ward (Fuerty), Luke Glennon (Boyle) and Jack Tumulty (Padraig Pearses) were also involved, coming in as second half replacements.

This year’s Sigerson Cup final between DCU and UCD will be hosted by the University of Galway, at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence in Bekan.
