Cairn Community Games set to host kickstart session for Mayo volunteers

Cairn Community Games are delighted to announce that we will be hosting the first of our kickstart sessions.

These sessions give those interested in and already involved in local Cairn Community Games Areas an opportunity to gain knowledge and awareness of Cairn Community Games.

This event will take place on Saturday, 17th January 2026 at 11am in Balla Community Centre, Balla, Castlebar, Mayo, F23 A303.

This session will include: Vetting information & guidelines Q & A Session Guidance to establishing and re-establishing areas Information about our event guidebooks & website
Promotion of your local Cairn Community Games area
Guidance on GDPR guidelines

All current Community Games volunteers involved in local areas of Mayo are
invited to attend.

Anyone who is interested in being involved in the long-standing history of
Cairn Community Games in Ireland, whether it’s volunteering or
establishing an area are all welcome.

Gerry McGuinness, National President of Cairn Community Games said:
‘’Cairn Community Games has a long-standing history in County Mayo. As a
former participant who remains actively involved, I am delighted that we are
hosting this kickstart session for volunteers. This event will support local
areas in Mayo in continuing to thrive and ensure we can provide
unforgettable opportunities for young people across the county.”
