A silver World Championship medal has made its way back to Belmullet from the World Karate Championships in Japan.
Aiobhínn Monaghan who trains with Belmullet Karate Club, Karate Iorras, won silver for Kata in the 13-14 age category.
Three Belmullet girls took part in Kata and Kumite in Tokyo, with Aoibhinn joined by Alex Kearney and Ava Gaffney.
The back looks set to feature against his native Australia.
