Ballina Stephenites’ quest to retain the Moclair Cup continues, as Niall Heffernan’s men saw off Knockmore today in the semi final.
Five points from Evan Regan and a Luke Doherty goal early in the second half were key to the Stephenites’ victory.
Knockmore were unable to break down the Ballina defence, and weren’t helped by the early departure of star man Darren MacHale through injury.
Ballina are aiming to complete their three-in-a-row, and will face either Crossmolina Deel Rovers or Westport in the final.
Cormac Rowland named Frank Irwin as the Midwest Radio Sport Man of the Match, after a dazzling display in the middle of the park with 0-2 to his name.
