All Mayo Football League fixtures will continue to be played and all day to day activity of the league and use of Milebush Umbro Park will continue as normal.

Connacht FA have assumed the responsibility of running the affairs of the league until an EGM is convened and a new committee is elected.

In a letter sent to Mayo clubs by Connacht FA the organisation states that they hope to hold an EGM in the very near future.

The letter from Connacht FA stated that they wish to clarify and correct some misinformation circulating following the significant meeting on Tuesday night.

The Chairman of Connacht FA said that he convened the meeting in an effort to resolve recent controversies that had arisen in the league.

The meeting was attended by all members of the Mayo League Management committee, seven in person and one remotely.

Despite over two hours of talks it became clear that there was no resolution to be found to the current difficulties and at that stage each member voluntarily agreed to step aside from their positions to facilitate the convening of an EGM.

The Chairman of the Connacht FA went on to say that there was no involvement from the FAI and nobody was stood down.

Each member agreed to stand aside in the best interests of the Mayo League.

It now falls to Connacht FA to assume the responsibility of running the affairs of the league until an EGM is convened and a new committee with a fresh mandate is elected.
