The AIG Irish Men’s Amateur Close Championship takes place at Westport this weekend (Fri-Sun), 20 years on from Rory McIlroy’s historic win at the same venue.
Westport golfer Conor Stapleton will be taking part along with ex-Westport golfer Harry Gillivan.
There will also be Ryan Corrigan and Kevin Barry (both Castlebar), Max Humphreys (Ballinrobe), Cormac O Muirithe (Belmullet), John William Burke (Ballyhaunis) and Michael Joyce (Mulranny).
There is one strokeplay round on Friday, another strokeplay round on Saturday and two more rounds to decide the winner on Sunday.
