Tony was a huge person in Killala and North Mayo, who achieved so much in his life. His hard work in developing his community can still be seen to this day – as a teacher and later principal in St. Patricks College Lacken Cross, his incredible work as a director of the Humbert Summer School, and not least of all his love for the Irish language.
Like so many others, I owe a huge debt of gratitude to Tony McGarry.
