So sorry to hear of the unexpected passing of Tommy. Our deepest sympathy to the Battle family. We always loved to stop & chat to Tommy, be it on the beach or after mass in Enniscrone. Football was always part of the conversation. His love of the red & green of his native club, Ballina Stephenites & of course Mayo, never dimmed. His adaptation of “North to Alaska” when Mayo reached the All Ireland in 1989, brings back lovely memories of our first journey to Croke Park since 1951. His smiling face & warm greeting will be missed around his beloved Enniscrone. Unfortunately we are unable to attend his funeral. Rest in peace Tommy, you will always be fondly remembered.

Very sad to hear the passing of Tommy I had a great conversation with him , weeks ago about sport in general and his love for Mayo & Ballina Stephenites, the new rules of the game and the recent death of his beloved brother Georgie whom he missed dearly and we were both reminiscing about football victories & agonising defeats. I’m so glad I did spend the time with him as I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation.

Tommy was also an amazing Businessman, musician, God fearing, but most of all a fantastic person who always showed interest in everyone and very kind with an infectious personality with a huge aura of friendliness. We all had our first social interaction with him at the famous “ Toms Top Ten “ where many famous people visited and celebrated great achievements there.

Tommy will be a massive void in the world and he maybe gone but will never be forgotten.

Life’s truly, amazing person & gentleman and his has left an amazing legacy with a wonderful family.

May eternal rest grant onto him & Angela, May perpetual light shine upon his gentle soul and may he and the rest of the Battle family rest in eternal peace
