Tom (Thomas) Durkin,
Briarhill, Castlegar, Galway, H91 Y95N; Tubbercurry, Sligo and formerly of Cloonacool, Tubbercurry, Co. Sligo – on Saturday, August 24.
Tom died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family in the gentle care of the staff of Galway University Hospital.
Beloved husband of Tina.
Much loved father of Ruth, Sharon and Paula, father-in-law of Tim and Fergus and a wonderful grandfather to Sarah, Olivia, Emma and Kate.
Tom will be sadly missed by his wife, daughters and their families, brothers Paddy (Kilkenny), Jimmy (Dublin) and Frank (Sligo), sisters Aggie (Sligo), Bernie Whittaker (Manchester), sister-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Predeceased by his sister Mai Loughlin (Ballyglunin, Galway).
Fondly remembered also by all the Durkin and Dunne relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at his home in Briarhill (Â H91 Y95N) on Tuesday, August 27 from 5.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m.
Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Tom on arrival at The Holy Family Church, Mervue on Wednesday, August, 28, at 11 a.m.
Following Mass, he will be laid to rest in in Rinville cemetery, Oranmore overlooking Galway Bay.
