Tommy was a valued and dedicated member of our Board of Management for many years. He was a beacon of calmness, wisdom and sound judgement, always bringing a steady and thoughtful presence to every discussion. Tommy always had a kind word for everyone and time to listen and talk, qualities that earned him great respect and friendship throughout the school community.

He also played an integral part in the establishment of our new school building, a legacy that will benefit generations of pupils into the future. A proud supporter of Bonniconlon and Mayo GAA, Tommy had a deep love for his community and took great pride in its people and its progress.

Tommy will be sorely missed by the entire school community and by the wider community of Bonniconlon.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife Maureen, his sons Kevin, Damian and Kieran, his daughters Deirdre and Martina (Melvin), and to all his family, relatives and friends.

I worked with Tommy many years ago in Asahi, and attended SIPTU branch meetings and conferences with him again in my role as a union representative in later years. He was a great mentor, and negotiator. I was fortunate that I knew him so well, as we both came from Bonniconlon, and I know he took great pride in that. On one or two occasions I had to seek his advice and direction on union issues, I was encountering in my role as a shop steward in the workplace. Needless to say I got sound advice from Tommy, and everything worked out fine. May his gentle soul RIP🙏
