It was with great sadness we read of the passing of Sr Mary. She cared for our mother 32 years ago when she worked for the Hospice and we called her our “Angel” and it was such a comfort to us all that with her assistance we could care for our mother at home. We have never forgotten her and I called to see her in Ard Bhride but unfortunately she was away for the weekend . We corresponded every Xmas . Tremendous sadness at the passing of an angel of God on this earth. Mary was full of joy and happiness spreading it everywhere she went. An Angel From Heaven sent to Comfort the Sick Dying,& support their Families .
I first met Mary over 35 years ago when I joined Mayo/ Roscommon Hospice.
She was our first Hospice nurse& she worked Day/ Night& traveled the whole County..
An Extraordinar nurse Looking after Patients& Families with her very special talents as a nurse with Love ,Care. Gentleness. Kindness & Compassion also caring for their spiritual needs to me she was a Saint. 23 yrs ago when my dear Wife had a stroke she was the Rock we needed to sustain us taking care & leading us when we didn’t know where to go. Six year’s ago My Dear wife was diagnosed with Cancer Mary traveled from Donegal to advise & comfort us. She devoted her life to caring for the terminaly ill & supporting them as they passed on to God. Mary you were a Special Friend you devoted your Life to your Religious Order / Hospice & your Manny Friends. No one will ever take your Place….I will carry you for ever in my heart & Soul..Rest easy my Dearest Friend in God’s House. And in the words of that Beautiful Song “God be with you till we meet again.Thanks Sr.Mary Love Damian x
