We were so honoured to have visited Patrick when we visited from Canada. We were always welcome. He sang songs for us and told us places to visit. We are close neighbours to his cousins here in Canada and we got to see where the Coyne family home once was. Such a kind and gentle man. Patrick was the dearest sweetheart of a man. The first day I saw him coming across the yard at Light House Hill I knew by those bright blue eyes he was kind x and a minx ! And I couldn’t wait to open the door and have a chat with him. Which is exactly what I we did, after putting the kettle on. Many chats over the years, in our trips, cups of tea, cards, news from Roscommon and Mayo exchanged. I am so sorry to hear this news..I am privileged to have met Patrick, chatted a while, drank tea, ate biscuits and played 25 with him. He was a pure gentleman and amazing soul life from the west of Ireland. I shall miss him. My sincere condolences to all of his family and friends at this sad time. RIP Patrick my friend.

Really sorry to hear of Patrick’s death. He was such a lovely man, always so welcoming when we met him in Tiernaur.
