Pat leaves behind a wealth of wonderful memories, many of them filled with laughter and good humour. He worked alongside us for many years, during a time when there were far fewer machines and the work was much more manual. The days were long and demanding, but there was a great spirit of teamwork, and through those shared experiences, lifelong friendships were forged and countless happy memories were made.
Pat’s kindness, good nature, and warm personality left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a true gentleman whose company was always appreciated and whose presence brought warmth and good cheer wherever he went.
Pat was also fondly known as “the man with the Milk Tray,” a title that never failed to raise a smile and perfectly reflected his generous and thoughtful nature. He had a remarkable gift for storytelling and a wonderful way of bringing the past to life through his recollections. We especially enjoyed listening to his stories of his time in England and the journey he made. Through those stories, he preserved treasured memories and brought great enjoyment to all who listened.
Pat touched the lives of many people, and his legacy will live on through the stories, memories, and friendships he leaves behind. He will be remembered with great affection and gratitude by all who knew him.
Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Pat’s family, neighbors, and friends at this difficult time. May they find comfort in the many cherished memories they shared with him and in the knowledge that he was held in such high regard by everyone whose life he touched.

I am so sorry to hear of Pat’s passing. Have many great memories of him, including the time we all came over in 1998 and he drove us nearly everywhere in his new car, being VERY careful with it around every turn! PAT Higgins one in a million who has always been such a big part of our lives.Who continued to always be a great support to my mum with Eileen. They came every Monday evening to our home in Carrowholly to chat discuss and laugh the evening away of there weeks stories. So many wonderful times we had with Pat from bringing us to the Discos listening to all our woes and learning us how to drive. Nothing was ever to much trouble even when we told him we could drive and nearly sank the car in tide at sammons corner in Kilmeena, he brought us to every Disco near and far. Nothing was ever too much trouble and he was the keeper of all our secrets. We will miss you so much Pat I KNOW YOU WILL BE WELCOMED with open arms in heaven with all the ones gone before you. Our loss is there gain. God Bless you our gentle kind Pat until we all meet again.xx

Pat was one of the nicest men you could ever meet, he was so very kind, generous, sincere and witty. He always put other people first, just so naturally caring. Pat was always very close to our hearts in Knocknabola, sure as we often said, we are all the one, cousins. We spent many the night of music together, and Pat LOVED the music. I suppose I got to know Pat even better over the last 20 years through the music sessions on the road. Pat, you are and will always be a True Gentleman and will be truly missed by us all.
