It is with great sadness that our village Illaune, marks the passing of our dear neighbour Packie. Packie lived a simple life and never spoke badly of anyone. Always kind and gentle he was a neighbour we were lucky to have. His quiet kindness and presence will be missed and always remembered. May your gentle soul rest in peace Packie.

It is with deep sadness that I have learned of the passing of our kind caring neighbour Packie.I was lucky and blessed to have spoken to him in hospital one week ago.Packie encapsulated all that is good in a human being. He lived his Christian values thoroughly each day.
He loved the simple things in life and had an admirable philosophical attitude to life which endeared him to many.Always willing to give a helping hand especially when it involved animals or someone in need.l shall miss his regular visits. He was such a loyal friend especially to my dear departed husband James.Packie you will be missed greatly. Our sincere sympathy to Caroline and Mark, and extended family, neighbours and friends of dear Packie. We were very saddened to hear of Packie’s death. We have lovely memories of him over the years. He was a true gentleman and a wonderful neighbour and friend of our late uncle Joe. My beloved mother went to school with him and she always spoke highly of Packie and his parents gone before him. I pray that they are all reunited now in heaven and will be watching over us until we meet again. Rest in peace dear Packie.
