Pat died peacefully at University Hospital Galway on 27th February 2026.
Predeceased by his parents Nora and Richard, sister Ann and brother Richard (Dick).
Pat will be sadly missed by his loving wife Maura (née Cooke), son Brian, daughters Katherine, Blaneth and Jenny, adored grandchildren Sophie, Liam, Rían and Eanna, sisters Kitty and May, daughter-in-law Edwina, sons-in-law Eoin, Cormac and Niall, brothers-in law Cyril, Brian, Michael and Raymond, sisters-in-law Bridie, Marie, Olivia, and Celia, the extended McSharry and Cooke family and his neighbours and friends.
Funeral Arrangements
Tuesday, 3rd March, 2026 Pat will lie in Repose at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue H91 V1K8 from 6 o’clock to 7.30 pm.
On Wednesday, 4th March, 2026 a Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Pat at 11 o’clock on arrival at St. James’ Church, Bushypark.
Following Mass, he will be laid to rest in Rahoon cemetery.

Please approach the funeral parlour entrance on foot from Fr. Burke Park. Street parking may be available on Fr. Griffin Road, within the Claddagh, on Henry Street and Sea Road. Road works continue within the city, with road diversions in place.
Car Parks within walking distance of the parlour are: The Claddagh Church, Spanish Arch and Mill Street which is adjacent to the Garda Station.
