We go back a long way as friends, all the Doherty family from Morrison tce used to come out to visit their uncle and Aunt and they used to visit us as we were neighbours
Later we got our petrol at Austin and later Pat. Later Pat and Mary moved to Carrentrilla such great neighbours and always some banter. Pat was one in a million and someone you could always rely on. May his gentle soul rest in peace and may God give ye all comfort.

I’m sorry it’s taken me a while to send our condolences to Mary Brian Alan Eamonn Sinead & Christopher and extended families as I had to gather myself to say these words I grew up in Morrison Tce with Patrick and my best friend Claire and the happy memories we had together
cannot be assumed our happy childhood memories will forever remain in my heart and then I met Eddie who was one of Pats best friends and so our journey continued into adulthood and now we have lost one of life’s best human beings
A true gentleman and a kind hearted person who has left a legacy through Mary and his family
The Doherty Family were one of Morrison Tce best families Bless you Patrick and you have finally finished your journey

Pat is a huge loss to all who knew him especially those of ye his family. I always stopped at his garage for petrol both to & from Cork & we often laughed about me taking the business out of Cork. ‘Of course’ I laughed. He was a tonic, always smiling & funny. Rest well Pat. Your lovely Mum was waiting at Heaven’s door. Ye will have loads to chat on now. Sorry I couldn’t be there Nuala. I tuned in on webcam this morn, a lovely tribute to Pat. It is with the greatest of regret that I have learned of Pat’s passing. As a young arrival in Ballina and a teacher in Scoil Padraig in the late 70s Pat was so very helpful to me from a car point of view. I’ll never forget his help. RIP Pat.

My first time to meet Pat & his Dad was when I arrived in Ballina in 1979 & the petrol shortage. Always guaranteed to get petrol from Austin or Pat. Pat was a loyal supporter of his beloved Stephenites & we had many football conversations down through the years. He was one lovely person who will be sadly missed by all who were lucky enough to have known him. Rest in peace Pat.
