Paddy Cafferky

Lisduff, Craughwell, Co. Galway and formerly of Aughadeffin, Kilkelly, Co. Mayo – passed away peacefully in the care of Galway Hospice.

June 14^th 1944 – 27^th July 2025.

Predeceased by his wife Toni, his parents John & Ellen, sister Mary and brother Martin.

Sadly missed by his brother Johnnie (Aughadeffin), sisters Kitty Scarry (Moylough) and Evelyn Hatton (Cabinteely), brother & sisters in-law, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, relatives, dear friends in both Ireland and India and his neighbours.

Paddy will be lovingly remembered always for his kind and gentle ways, his wit, and above all, the love he had for Toni, his family and his Amma family.

Paddy was renowned for his exceptional craftsmanship and deep dedication to traditional Irish harp making and his cherished customers.

Reposing at Suaimhneas on the grounds of the Church of the Annunciation, Clarinbridge (H91 HW58) this Wednesday evening, 30^th July from 5.30pm to 7pm.

Funeral Mass in the Church of the Annunciation, Clarinbridge on Thursday, 31^st July at 12 noon.

Burial afterwards in Clarinbridge Cemetery.

Mass will be broadcast on parish radio 106.2 FM and can be viewed on parish website

Paddy’s family wish to thank all who cared for him in his last few weeks in particular the staff at Galway Hospice and UHG. Their kindness, compassion and care of Paddy will never be forgotten.

Condolences to Johnnie, Kitty and Evelyn. Paddy’s quiet and dignified presence is missed. We have the same birthday and age. Together with Seamus Waldron, we were in the same class in Urlaur School. So so sorry to hear of the passing of Paddy. We got to know him and Toni in the eighties when he made our daughter Áine her first traditional harp. He was a caring, kind and gentleman and always gave us welcome to his home.He worshipped his wife Toni and they were a great team. I know they are happy to be reunited again in the peace and harmony of the angels.
