Mick your passing has left a huge void in our little community. This marks the end of an era that will never be repeated and most certainly will never be forgotten. My first memory of Mick is of him cycling his bike, and either whistling or singing as he passed. A gentleman to the very end who always had a word for everyone, young or old.
Our sincere condolences to the wonderful Small Tom who looked after Mick so well, wherever one was the other was never to far behind. Condolences too to Margaret & Richard.

He loved his pot of tea after his lunch and we also made sure he had something nice to go with it. He was a real gentleman and it was a pleasure to have known him for many years. How sorry I was on learning of the death of Michael (Mick) Gaynard.
Michael Gaynard was a great and wonderful man. A memory comes back to me now, indeed as many memories do, i remember my late father when he would journey back to the Gaynard residence, where the brothers were great handymen, where Mick’s brother Tom was called the neighbourhood Vet, which were essential figures in rural communities during the late 60s and 70s. The Gaynard brothers were the back bone of local agricultural and animals well being. Tom would be called on, when the vet was to far away. The Gaynard brothers were greatly respected for their many great skills in the communities, back in the years. for the above mentioned.
Mick Gaynard has made a lasting legacy in our community, made family life better, just by being living in it. Comforting habits which Mick had in abundance, like sharing a cup of tea at his residence or a cup of coffee at our local hotel in our nearest town, or greeting neighbour’s with a warm handshake.
A century of history has passed in Mike’s 101 years on this planet. Mick adapted greatly with such grace and warmth.
Another memory takes me back. The sincerity on his face as one spoke to him, never rushing a conversation, always giving one, his full attention. Mick Gaynard was always at his happiest, when he was sitting in his favourite seat, that seat was, when he journeyed to his town of Claremorris, on a weekly basis with his very kind a beautiful neighbour, the great Tom Hughes. Mich would always give one the royal wave, from the car, with much happiness in his beautiful smile.
We send our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to Mick’s friends neighbours and relatives on his death. Sympathy to Tom Hughes who looked after Mick so well. To the Jennings family Mannicks household, names escape me at this sad time. Sympathy to his neighbours, the great Mathew Joseph Connolly and his family. and to the wider community on Mick’s passing.
