He was so generous with his advice to the farming community whenever they had sick animals.
He worked long hours with Brid over many years. He will be happy to have his pharmacy in the safe hands of Eoghan and his very helpful staff. Rest in peace Maurice.

I awoke this morning to the news that Maurice is no longer with us. This made me feel sad, yet another icon of swinford town has has sadly departed.
I knew Maurice most of my life, he was a very helpful and knowledgeable guy and many county people relied on his medical
advise because they couldn’t afford a doctor. God knows how many people he was responsible for curing and probably saving by giving sound advise and dispensing over the counter medicines. My poor mom (and we were poor indeed) has so much confidence in Maurice, as kids if we weren’t well she’d say “don’t worry we’ll ask Mauriceen” and we’d feel better just knowing he was on the case!
Behind every great man there is a great woman and Brid is no doubt a legend, always ready to help and advise. We were always in awe of Brid, she was and still is so beautiful. I remember going into the chemist just to sneak a look at her makeup which was always awesome. I tried to emulate how she got it all so right but failed miserably!
I can only send Brid and all his family my sincere condolences at this very sad time. Maurice will be sadly missed in the town of Swinford. May he rest in peace.
