Matthew (Matt) Costello

It is with profound sadness that Leona and the extended Costello family share the heartbreaking news of the passing of Matthew (Matt) Costello

Carnagh East, Kiltoom, Athlone, Co. Roscommon and originally of Tonragee, Cloonfad, Ballyhaunis, Co Mayo.

Matt passed away peacefully on 14^th September, 2025, in the unwavering care of his adored daughter Leona supported by the exceptional Palliative Care Team, the Costello family and treasured family friend Geraldine.

He will be lovingly reunited with his wife Elizabeth (Elsie Leonard) and baby daughter Talitha, his parents John and Catherine, sister Mary and brothers Martin, P.J. and John Francis.

Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his loving daughter Leona, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, kind neighbours and friends.

May Matt’s gentle soul rest in peace.

Reposing at his daughter, Leona’s residence, Carnagh East (N37 KP44) on Tuesday evening (16^th September) from 4 pm until 7 pm.

Funeral arriving to St. John’s Church, Lecarrow on Wednesday (17^th September) for Requiem Mass at 11 am.

Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
