Doogara, Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon and late of Hollymount, Claremorris, Co. Mayo (December 11th, 2025) – peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
Predeceased by his son Joseph, his parents Ellen and Jack, brothers Mike and Johnny, his sisters Mary, Kathleen and Evelyn.
Matt will be forever missed and remembered with love by his heartbroken wife Marion, his children Martina, Rosanne, John, Georgina, David, Matthew, Josephine, Michael, Bernadine and Stephen, sons-in-law Austin, Brendan, John (H), John (K) and Michael, daughters-in-law Patricia, Maria and Ying, his 28 grandchildren, his 3 great-grandchildren, Mary, Alica and Robyn, his sisters, nephews, nieces brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, relatives, neighbours and his many friends.

Matt will lie in repose in The Kilgarriff Funeral Home, Ballaghaderreen on Sunday evening from 4 o’clock to conclude with evening prayer at 7 o’clock.
Funeral will arrive to the Cathedral of the Annunciation and St. Nathy, Ballaghaderreen on Monday afternoon for Mass of the Resurrection at 1pm with burial afterwards in Kilcolman Cemetery.
