What can I say one of the best friends I have known Mary and Kevin togather again what lovely people may u both rest in peace togather .

I was only blessed with a few shared moments with Mary, but she was such that each made an impression upon me of how full of life she was. She and her beloved Kevin journeyed to America and were able to be present at the moment I entered into the vast extended family (via marriage). A few years later during a trip to New York City my toddler son and I traveled with Mary and Kevin to the Irish Hunger Memorial – filling the time with stories of their beloved home. My final memories of Mary are from a visit my family made to Ireland during which Mary showered us with welcoming love in her home. She doted over us in a way that I sense she did others but also in a way that made us feel special – thrilled to share her home, her food, her drink, and her joy and stories. My last day in Ireland I went for a walk around her home, enjoying the peaceful fields and over-present cows, when along came Mary up the lane – “thought you’d like some company” she said (or something like it) – and I definitely liked her company. My sympathies to all who knew her, and prayers that she is now in peace.

You were by far the most beautiful kind, gentle soul and you would give anything to anyone.

I’m so glad I got to spend some time with you before we left for NZ. We have such great memories of climbing croagh patrick and having the best picnic after! You also managed to teach Paul how to make those delicious currant buns! We will cherish all the memories and you will live on in our hearts.

Condolences to all the family of Mary, so sad to hear of the passing of such a lovely person. RIP

We have fond memories of Mary and remember the happy times we spent with her and Kevin.
My brother Kevin and I visited Mary in 2016 before Kevin was due to undergo surgery. I had asked her about the easiest recipe for soda bread, and before I knew it flour, buttermilk, baking soda, pans appeared on the counter. Within an hour Mary had 3 breads ready for the oven – brown bread, bread with caraway seeds, treacle, and instructions for boxty. She loved doing it, and eating the bread right out of the oven was sheer joy. Chatting in the evening with Mary, Kevin and cousins from “up the hill” made our visit memorable. I’ll attempt to make one of the soda breads in fond memory. Our sympathies to Mary’s family.

To know Mary was to love her as my children and grandchildren did, with children remembering her kindnesses when they studied in England and found with her and Kevin a home away from home in Leeds. Their visits to America and Uncle Pat were priceless, as was their presence at his last birthday in Ireland, sitting next to him joined by other family members, a picture of which appears in my memoir. When they returned to Ireland, thanks to Kevin Feerick giving them the home in upper Culmore in which our mother was raised as well as Kevin Boyle’s father, they became our family anchors on visits to Ireland. And when I received County’s Mayo’s first disapora award it was Mary to whom I asked to step in for me and receive it. How I remember also Mary’s and Kevin’s joy when they opened their new home in Foxford and Uncle Pat and I made our first visit there. Joy also for me were Mary and Kevin’s trips to Belfast showing American law students in a summer law program on party night how the Irish could dance, and dance Mary did. Faculty and students of that summer program will long remember that night. My summer program weekends in her home have left me with indelible beautiful person.
She was welcoming, hospitable, caring, compassionate, kind and had a generous manner. Humble and religious, she touched everyone with her laugh and humor. John

You were never long in Mary’s company before the craic would start and she made everyone around her laugh so much.
