I was so sorry to hear of the sudden passing of the one and only Martin McHugh. Martin was one of nature’s gentleman and the first thing that Martin always did was bring a smile to anyone he met along the way. He had a delightful sense of old fashioned humour that made everyone feel at ease in his company. He was a gifted raconteur and could always embellish a good story and make it even better. I first got to know Martin when he became a member of the staff of Midwest Radio in Ballyhaunis. He had a great way about him when it came to attracting advertising revenues. Many advertisers requested that Martin record their radio adverts, such was the alluring appeal of his soft western accent. We will all miss Martin and his memory will continue to bring smiles to our hearts. I extend condolences to Teresa and all the family at this very sad time.
