Martin (Marty) Taylor

Easkey, Co. Sligo and Palmerstown, Dublin and formerly of Dartry, Cootehill, Co. Cavan (11th May, 2026) – suddenly at his residence in Easkey, Co. Sligo.

Predeceased by his parents John & Nora, sister Bridgie, brothers Tommy, Jack & Vincent.

Marty, beloved husband of Pat and loving father of Padraic.

Sadly missed by his loving wife, son, daughter-in-law Rachel, grandchildren Daniel, James and Anna, sister-in-law Joanie, in-laws, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Rest In Peace

Reposing at McGowan’s Funeral Home, Ballina (F26 V274) on Thursday evening from 4:30pm with removal at 6:15pm to St. James Church, Easkey arriving at 7pm.

Requiem Mass on Friday morning at 11am followed by burial in Roslea Cemetery, Easkey.

Family flowers only please.

Donations if desired to Palliative Care, c/o McGowans Funeral Home Ballina.

Martin was a member of the initial staff of the then new Comprehensive Scool, Cootehill. He was a gifted mathematics teacher, had the respect and esteem of the students and his colleagues. Nothing was ever too much trouble for Martin. Generous and kind. His rendition of Carraigfergus was the highlight of many a celebration. Rest in Peace.
