Malachy Hanley

Cricklewood, London and formerly of Castlemore, Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon.

January 13th, 1945 – March 20th, 2026

Peacefully, in the wonderful care of the doctors, nurses and staff of Hammersmith Hospital, London.

Predeceased by his parents Matthew and Rose and his brothers Tommy and John.

Malachy will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his sisters Una Costello (Killorglin), Rose Kelly (Boyle) and Maureen Reilly (New York), brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

May He Rest in Peace.

Malachy will repose in The Sharkey Funeral Home, Ballaghaderreen on Sunday (April 5^th) from 4pm until 6pm.

Removal from the funeral home on Monday at 10.45am to St. Nathy’s Cathedral, Ballaghaderreen arriving for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am, followed by interment in Kilcolman cemetery.

Sincere condolences to the Reilly family and extended Kelly and Costello family. I lived in Aughoose, Pullathomas with my Uncle Mike McDonnell and aunts Cait and Mary McDonnell and my mother was their sister Bridget McDonnell R.I.P. to them all. Apologies I can’t make the funeral but I knew the Hanleys also from Banada in Ballyhadreen and the Hanleys from Limerick and knew the Hanley brothers in Melbourne from Banada in Ballyhadreen when I lived there.
