Sincere sympathy to all the extended costello family on the passing of Sean. I had a great chat with Sean at his home on Sunday evening last after mayo winning the all Ireland. He told me of his trip to Croke Park in 1951 with six friends in Lallys car. They all had their bottles of tea with them for the journey. The Irish press had very poor headlines the next day in the paper. He recalled himself and his neighbour Joe Heneghan umpiring at the football festivals in Tourmakeady in the seventies. So glad he got to see Sam returning to Mayo after 75 years ,you can rest in peace now Sean.
