John Gurren

Brackloon, Castlerea, Roscommon – 17th July 2025, peacefully at Fearna Manor Nursing Home.

He is predeceased by his parents Joe and Mary, brothers Paddy, Ted, Paul, Martin, and Anthony and his sisters Molly, Josie, Theresa, Bea and Nora.

John will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.

May He Rest In Peace

John will be reposing in Gaynor’s Funeral Home, The Square, Castlerea (F45 HH24) on Sunday evening from 5pm to 7pm. His funeral will arrive at St. Patrick’s Church, Castlerea, for Requiem Mass on Monday morning at 11am after which John will be laid to rest in Baslick Cemetery.

The funeral Mass will be live-streamed on St. Patrick’s Church webcam.

I am sorry to hear the passing of John Gurren, who I got to know quite well through the years. I also knew John, Paddy, Ted and Anthony. John and my father (Ted Cahill, late of Brackloon) were first cousins, as my grandmother was originally a Gurren. May John rest in peace
